Home sweet home

The return wasn't as smooth as the outward flight; the fasten seatbelt signs were on quite a lot.  David manages to sleep nevertheless, after a good dinner and a glass of wine.  We had had a beer in the Outback at the airport before taking off; the waitress made a point of not asking for ID, unlike one a couple of years ago. The arrival went smoothly, except for the long walk to immigration. The bags appeared, we collected the car, de-iced it and set off.  Amazingly we got away from Manchester and through the Black Country without ever coming to a stop; and all in bright sunshine under a cloudless blue sky.   The heating was on when we got home, thanks to a text message.  We've unpacked, had supper, and are wondering how soon we can go to bed with a clear conscience.  Roll on Florida 2021.

We set off in good time and had an easy run to the airport.  The weather improved for the send off: 72 degrees and sunny.  We collected a $50 refund for the tobacco smell the previous renter left in the car, along with his disposable lighter. Boarding has started on Flight 76: MCO to MCR.  We're on our way so bye for now. In the air Our course took us right back over Cocoa Beach, so in the four hours after leaving Larry and Dorie's we travelled seven miles, albeit vertically!
